Nationally recognized portraitist, Linda Harris Reynolds has been creating memorable portraits for families and individuals for the past thirty-one years from her studio in historic Centreville, DE. Working mostly in oils, pastels, and charcoals; Linda’s lively painting style serves to enhance the personality of her subjects, and reflexs a blending of Classical Realism and Impressionism.
In 2020, Linda was greatly honored to receive the official portrait commission to paint Delaware’s First Lady, Ms. Tracey Quillen Carney; which will hang in the Governor’s Mansion Woodburn in Dover, Delaware.
In November 2019 Ms.Reynolds received an Honorable Mention for her painting
“Nina in Summer” in the NTDTV (and Art Renewal Center’s) 5th International Figure Painting Exhibit at the historic Salmagundi Art Club in New York City.
In April 2019 Linda received a Certificate of Excellence from the Portrait Society of America’s competition “The Art of The Portrait”, from a group of approximately 3000 international applicants.
In December 2017, Linda received a top ten placement in their Member’s Only Competition, “Commissioned Portrait” category (with her portrait “Nina in Summer”).
This piece was also featured in the international Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine In May/June 2017 “More Than Just Faces”; where she also appeared in their center spread in Nov/Dec 2016 ”today’s Masters-The Enduring appeal of Youth”, and most recently in their Jan/Feb 2020 issue featuring the art of animals and wildlife.
In July 2017 WHYY TV Wilmington/Philadelphia showcased Ms. Reynolds’ work in their cultural arts segment “First”, and the Delaware Division of the Arts awarded Ms. Reynolds an “Honorable mention” in their “Established Artist” category for “Works on Paper” 2017.
Linda continues her supporting role as the Delaware State Ambassador to the Portrait Society of America since 2009, as well as being a mentor for the past two years in their Cecilia Beaux mentoring program.
Training includes: The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, The University of the Arts, and The Tyler School of Art in Rome, Italy; as well as specialized training in portrait and figure painting from the Art Students League, NYC; The National Academy of Fine Arts, NYC, The Grand Central Academy,NYC: Studio Incamminati, Philadelphia, PA, and the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy and Jersey City Mana Arts.
Linda established The Centreville Art Student’s League, a small private Atelier where she teaches classical portrait and figure painting classes seasonally; and continues to
receive commissions throughout the east coast.
