Artist Biography:
Alice Mongeau is a plein air painter who has been painting full time since 1982, and maintains a studio on Cape Cod. Mongeau's striking yet gentle style, at once Impressionistic and classical in its warmth and clarity, is the product of her own masterly, but patient brilliance. This is molded by years of outdoor painting on Cape Cod, in Maine and in Florida, across the United States and Europe. For over thirty years her work has been honored by top awards, many prestigious shows and by representation in top United States collections.
The artist received her art education at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Cape Cod Community College, and apprenticed under American landscapist John C. Terelak for her M.A from the Gloucester Academy of Fine Arts in Gloucester, Ma. She was an instructor at the Creative Arts Center in Chatham and was the Associate Director of the Toby Gallery in West Harwich.
